Designing for a Commons Transition Symposium
Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture, Pittsburgh, PA
Sep 19-21
Antje Steinmuller presented ongoing Urban Works Agency research into California co-living experiments in the context of the Atlas of Commining Exhibition at CMU School of Architecture. Comparing case studies of intentional communities, co-living startups, and hacker hostels, the research examines inherent patterns within the spatial and social structure of these domestic typologies, revealing how such collective living environments leverage scarce urban space toward shaping broader communities that redefine the family unit.
